Yellow Wheel’s ANNUAL CHOREOGRAPHIC SEASON
Trip The Light
About
Trip The Light (Previously known as Showroom) is an opportunity for our Yellow Wheel Dancers to create their own works, presented as part of an annual season. Within each year’s existing Company 1, dancers who wish to create a work undergo an application process in which they have to articulate and describe their concept and intention behind their piece. Selected works/choreographers are then given studio space, mentoring by Yellow Wheel’s Team, and support as they bring their ideas to fruition.
The finished products are then presented alongside each other as part of a larger season. The structure of Trip The Light has varied yearly, but has always been a platform for emerging artists to begin discovering their choreographic identities.
Trip The Light 2019 was supported by and presented at WXYZ Studios.
Trip The Light 2018 was supported by and presented at Transit Dance.
Trip The Light 2017 was presented at Melbourne Dance Centre.
Caught Yellow Handed 2015 was presented at Chunky Move.
Showroom 2014 was presented at The Space Dance and Arts Centre.
